Please Allow Me to Introduce Myself. . .

My name is Laura Culpepper, and I am currently earning a Master’s in teaching languages with an emphasis in English as a second language with a minor in Instructional Design Technology. This is my final semester of classes, but I will not be graduating until the Fall. I have a bachelor’s in English and master’s degree in literature. I live in Jackson, MS and work for an airline, so I am always traveling, which is my passion. I hope to begin teaching abroad soon, but as of now, I am not in the classroom. I am slowly working my way into teaching.
I am taking this course because I believe that it is imperative that teachers incorporate technology in the classroom. I believe that students should be exposed to technology as early as possible, and teachers have a responsibility to facilitate this exposure. Through familiarity with technology, students are at a significant advantage because they are more comfortable with technology. I am taking this class because I want to be more confident in my ability to utilize technology in the classroom. I am taking this as an online course because my job prevents me from attending traditional classes because I do travel so much and on very short notice. I have taken many online classes prior to this class and have taken the majority of the classes for my M.A. in TESOL online.
